Central Java's economy in 2014, measured based on Gross Domestic Product (GRDP) at current prices, reached IDR 925,662.7 billion.
Central Java's economy in 2014 grew 5.4 percent, an increase compared to 2013 (5.1 percent). In terms of production, the highest growth was achieved by the Information and Communication Business Field (13.0 percent).
In terms of expenditure, the highest growth was achieved by the Non-Profit Institution Consumption Expenditure Component (8.6 percent).
Central Java's economy in the fourth quarter of 2014 grew by 6.2 percent compared to the fourth quarter of 2013 (y-on-y), an increase compared to the same period the previous year of 5.2 percent.
The Central Java economy in the fourth quarter of 2014 experienced a contraction of 3.0 percent compared to the previous quarter (q-to-q). From the production side, this was caused by seasonal effects on the Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries business fields which grew by minus 29.8 percent. From the expenditure side, this was due to a growth contraction in the Household Consumption Component, LNPRT Consumption, Exports and Inventory Changes.
