Abstract

The ITK value in Central Java in Quarter IV-2019 was 106.48, meaning that households had an optimistic perception of economic conditions in Central Java, or experienced an increase compared to conditions in the previous quarter. The increase in household economic conditions was mainly due to an increase in income as reflected in the index value of 105.60 and the recorded consumption volume of 107.21. On the other hand, maintained price increases do not affect public consumption. This is illustrated by the index figure for the influence of inflation on consumption of 107.54.
  • Central Java's ITK value in Quarter I-2020 is estimated at 103.24, meaning that economic conditions perceived by consumers have improved compared to Quarter IV-2019 but are not as optimistic as this quarter. The main driver is household optimism to obtain better income as indicated by the future income index of 109.63. Meanwhile, households in Central Java have not planned to purchase durable goods in the first quarter of 2020, as indicated by the durable goods purchase index of 92.03.
