Abstract

The economy of Central Java, measured based on the size of GRDP at current prices in the first quarter of 2014, reached IDR 170,468.8 billion, while GRDP at constant 2000 prices was IDR 58,132.2 billion.

Central Java's GDP in the first quarter of 2014 increased by 6.0 percent compared to the fourth quarter of 2013 (q-to-q). This growth occurred in the agricultural sector, mining and quarrying sector, processing industry sector, trade sector, hotels and restaurants, transportation and communications sector, financial sector, real estate and corporate services and the services sector.

The highest growth was produced by the agricultural sector at 37.7 percent because the harvest of food crops began to occur this quarter.

Central Java's GDP in the first quarter of 2014 compared to the same quarter in 2013 (y on y) experienced growth of 5.4 percent.
