The Indonesian Democracy Index (IDI) in Central Java 2018 reached 72.17 on a scale of 0 to 100. This figure has increased compared to the 2017 IDI figure of 70.85. Central Java's democratic performance achievements are still in the "medium" category. The classification of the level of democracy is grouped into three categories, namely "good" (index > 80), "medium" (index 60 - 80), and "bad" (index < 60).
Changes in the Indonesian Democracy Index (IDI) numbers from 2017-2018 were influenced by three aspects of democracy, namely (1) Civil Liberties which rose 7.14 points (from 69.07 to 76.21), (2) Political Rights fell 0.32 points (from 67.24 to 66.92), and (3) Democratic Institutions fell 3.40 points (from 78.82 to 75.42).
