Development consumer price index Central Java Province February 2024

Abstract

In February 2024, year-on-year (y-on-y) inflation in Central Java Province was 2.98 percent with a Consumer Price Index (CPI) of 105.83. The highest inflation occurred in Rembang Regency at 4.93 percent with a CPI of 109.01 and the lowest occurred in Purwokerto at 2.43 percent with a CPI of 105.16.
Y-on-y inflation occurred due to an increase in prices as indicated by an increase in the expenditure group index, namely: the food, beverage and tobacco group by 7.58 percent; clothing and footwear group by 1.64 percent; housing, water, electricity and household fuel group at 0.34 percent; equipment, tools and routine household maintenance group of 0.94 percent; health group by 1.65 percent; transportation group by 1.30 percent; recreation, sports and culture group at 1.22 percent; education group by 1.87 percent; food and beverage/restaurant provision group at 1.72 percent; and the personal care and other services group at 2.92 percent. Meanwhile, the expenditure groups that experienced a decline in the index were: information, communication and financial services groups by 0.67 percent.
The month to month (m-to-m) inflation rate for Central Java Province in February 2024 was 0.57 percent and the year to date (y-to-d) inflation rate was 0.49 percent.
